Jesus Christ through changed lives."

Home > Ministries > Missions

As a Missionary Church, we have always had a passion for outreach and missions. We presently support a number of international relief workers from a variety of agencies and provide many opportunities for our own church body to participate in short-term mission trips as well as outreach to the greater Port Huron area.

Anytime we send a team on a mission trip, you can follow along to see their updates through our Colonial Woods Missions Facebook page.

Guatemala Missions Trip 2025

This fall, we’re excited to introduce a new mission field in Guatemala, one we plan to partner with for years to come. This trip is a great opportunity, especially for those considering their first experience serving internationally. We’re eager to see how God will work in and through your life during this time, and how He will use you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the Guatemalan people.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Guatemala is a developing country located in Central America. The people there are generally very welcoming to visitors, especially missionaries and volunteers. Most of the individuals we’ll be working with live in poverty compared to typical standards in the U.S. During our time in Guatemala, we’ll be connecting with local communities, building relationships, working on construction projects, and helping pack meals for families in the mountain regions. The main ministry center where we’ll be staying is well-equipped for the area where you can expect hot showers and delicious prepared hot meals during our time in the country.

SERVICE PROJECTS

While in Guatemala, we’ll have several meaningful opportunities to serve in a variety of ways. Some of our projects will include helping construct a roof for a local home, along with other hands-on building work. We’ll also assist in packing food bags for families in need. In addition, we’ll visit schools in the mountain regions to lead VBS-style programs and connect with the children through fun, faith-filled activities.

ADVENTURE OPPORTUNITIES

Our time in Guatemala won’t be all work, we’ll also have opportunities to explore and experience the local culture. We plan to visit vibrant markets, tour ancient Mayan ruins, and enjoy a group dinner at a restaurant with an incredible view of a volcano. There will also be time to shop for souvenirs and enjoy local cuisine, giving us a fuller picture of the beauty and richness of Guatemalan life.

COST

Estimated Cost Per Person - $2000

Our goal is to make this international mission trip as affordable as possible—especially for those going on their first trip. Additionally, support is available through CW’s Andrew Project, which can help reduce the cost even further. We’ll also provide a template you can use to send out prayer and sponsor letters to family and friends who may want to support you. For many participants, these letters help cover most or even all of the trip expenses, often resulting in little out-of-pocket cost.
